Commercial Manager – Ideal Home Show Spring

The Ideal Home Show is the longest-running consumer exhibition in the world, a flagship of innovation, design, and lifestyle for the modern home.  With a brand that continues to grow in scope and prestige, we’re looking for a commercially savvy, entrepreneurial Commercial Manager to drive revenue, grow partnerships, and lead from the front.

The role

As Commercial Manager, you will lead the strategic growth of stand revenue and sponsorship for the Ideal Home Show Spring, driving both new business and account development.  You will work on high-value sponsorships, experiential partnerships, and brand activations that elevate the show’s commercial performance and market presence. A key focus will be delivering and exceeding revenue targets through proactive sales leadership, client acquisition, and effective team management.

Working closely with the Commercial Director and collaborating across event, marketing, content, and operations teams, you will ensure every exhibitor and partnership engagement is executed to the highest standard, from initial pitch to on-site delivery.  Your ability to identify opportunities, negotiate impactful deals, and deliver results will be central to the continued success and profitability of the event.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take the lead role in driving stand sales and sponsorship across the Ideal Home Show Spring, maximising all commercial opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of exhibitors, sponsors, and partners, across key industry sectors, for both the team and individually.
  • Develop persuasive, creative, and tailored proposals that align with client objectives while enhancing the show’s overall value proposition.
  • Lead by example on major accounts, negotiating and closing high-value deals to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with content and features teams to craft integrated immersive, creative and experiential activations that deliver measurable impact.
  • Partner with operations and marketing teams to ensure flawless campaign delivery and exceptional client satisfaction.
  • Analyse team performance data, sales metrics, and market trends to refine pricing strategies, optimise floorplans, and drive commercial growth.
  • Represent the brand at key industry events to generate leads, strengthen relationships, and stay ahead of emerging market trends.
  • Produce detailed post-show evaluations, offering insights and recommendations to inform future commercial strategy and event development.
  • Lead and mentor your team to achieve their targets and career development

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Stand revenue growth year-on-year
  • Identify and grow new business, across sponsorship and stands
  • High conversion rate on proposals and pitches
  • Retention and satisfaction rates of sponsors and exhibitors
  • Timely delivery of all commercial elements on-site
  • Innovation and creativity in packaging and presenting commercial opportunities

You should have

  • A proven track record in senior exhibition and/or sponsorship sales roles
  • Demonstrable experience growing revenues across complex, large-scale events
  • Excellent sales skills, from cold call to close, with the confidence to pitch at senior level
  • Experience in creating tailored proposals
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to spot and shape new opportunities
  • Experience managing high-value clients and building long-term relationships
  • A team player mentality with the drive to lead, mentor, and collaborate
  • A flair for selling within lifestyle, interiors or consumer-facing sectors is a bonus
